The purpose of the present invention is to provide an exercise load determination method and an exercise load determination device, whereby a determination can be made, easily and accurately, as to whether or not an exercise load is appropriate. An acquisition unit (21) obtains: a first acetone concentration value being a concentration value for acetone released by a subject prior to exercise by the subject; and a second acetone concentration value being a concentration value for acetone released by the subject after a prescribed period has passed since the subject has stopped exercise. A determination unit (22) calculates a comparison value being a value comparing the first acetone concentration value and the second acetone concentration value, compares the comparison value to a preset threshold value, and makes a determination as to whether or not the exercise load is appropriate for the subject. An output unit (23) outputs information on the basis of the determination results of the determination unit (22). |
