<p>The present invention provides an apparatus for checking an original file based on a torrent protocol comprising: a hash value generation unit to generate a hash value in each file piece length using a hash algorithm for an area in which an original file is set in advance; a storage unit to store a hash value in each file piece length; and a file piece comparison unit to generate original file matching information by comparing a hash value for a file piece of a torrent file with a hash value in each file piece length for the original file. According to the present invention, a method for checking an original file based on a torrent protocol enables a user to check original file information included in a torrent file just using torrent file information and without downloading an original file using an original file checking server in which each hash value in each file piece length for the original file is stored; to delete a seed file related to a copyright violation file in a file sharing environment based on the torrent protocol after searching the seed file; and to remarkably reduce illegal distribution of a copyright violation file or to simply charge for copyright.</p> |
