PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile object speed detection device capable of more accurately detecting the speed of a mobile object.SOLUTION: A mobile object speed detection device 1 includes: detection means 3a for detecting the relative speed and relative position of a mobile object with respect to an own vehicle on the basis of the reflection wave of a signal wave; and determination means 3b for determining whether or not the mobile object is positioned at the side of the own vehicle. When the determination of the determination means 3b is affirmative, the relative speed of the mobile object is not detected by the detection means 3a, and the relative speed at the time of previous processing is set as a detection value.
