<p>A method of treating waste super absorbant polymer gels (SAP) comprises the steps of processing the waste product and introducing a salt composition to the waste which can be done in any order or simultaneously. Preferred waste processing steps include macerating or washing, and preferably the composition comprises sodium chloride. Apparatus for carrying out the above method is also disclosed as is a dispenser for dispensing salt. The apparatus may comprise a receptacle for macerating or washing the SAP, and a dispenser (possibly a pump) for introducing salt, the salt may be introduced into the receptacle, or in a different embodiment into a pipe downstream which is prone to blockage.</p> |
