PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cancel out a delay time by highly accurately estimating a hand-held blur state after the delay time occurring due to image stabilization with a simple computation, and attain a high image stabilization performance.SOLUTION: An image stabilization device comprises: a blur correction part that corrects an image blur by moving a lens included in an optical system in a vertical direction with respect to an optical axis, or moving an image pickup element on an imaging surface; a blur detection part that detects an amount of a posture change of an imaging device; a holding part that holds more than three amounts of the posture changes detected at a different time; a prediction part that calculates a prediction value of the amount of the posture change after a prescribed time has elapsed on the basis of more than three amounts of the posture changes, and on the basis of an approximate function based upon a time change in the amount of the posture change; a blur amount calculation part that calculates an amount of an image blur on the basis of the prediction value; and a drive control part that calculates an amount of a movement of the lens by the blur correction part or the image pickup element thereby on the basis of the amount of the blur image. |
