PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-shielding method of a radioactively contaminated area, capable of prohibiting intrusion of ground water into the radioactively contaminated area and allowing a high density drilling mud wall having high shielding effect to be easily installed at low cost, and a water-shielding wall of the radioactively contaminated area.SOLUTION: A water-shielding method of a radioactively contaminated area includes: a trench formation step of surrounding a radioactively contaminated area and forming a trench to a location deeper than a ground water level; and a high density drilling mud filling step of filling the trench formed by the trench formation step with a high density drilling mud to form a high density drilling mud wall having high shielding effect on the wall of the trench.
