<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron source substrate, capable of manufacturing with a satisfactory yield having a surface conductive type electron emission element and to offer an image display device, and to provide a manufacturing method for the electron source substrate. SOLUTION: The electron source substrate comprises a first electrical conductor layer 3 on the substrate, a second electric conductor layer 5 crossing the first electrical conductor layer 3, the inter-layer insulating layer 4 provided at the crossing of the first electrical conductor layer 3 and the second electrical conductor layer 5 and in having charge of the insulating first electrical conductor 3 and the second electrical conductor 5, and the electron emission element having thin-film electrodes 1, 7 laid at each location of the crossing of both conductor layers and connected to each conductor layer. The lower part conductor layer 2, consisting of an ITO(indium tin oxide), is provided between the first electrical conductor layer 3 and the substrate.</p> |
