<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a file processing method, a processing method device, and a storage medium, whereby during extended storage of data files in which the shapes of buildings such as houses have been recorded, the files can be reliably reutilized without being affected by obsolescence of the recording format, while maintaining the original properties of the files to be stored. This file processing method includes a storage step in which a shape description file in which the shape of a building has been recorded in any format is stored to a storage medium for the purpose of extended storage, and a utilization step in which the shape description file which has been stored for an extended period in the storage medium is fetched for utilization by a file processing device. When the shape description file is stored to the storage medium during the storage process, there is stored, together with the shape description file, a format definition file that is parsable by the file processing device, and that defines a process for converting the recording format of the shape description file to another recording format utilizable in the shape description file utilization step.</p> |
