<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device that forms a lens on a resin layer for composing a luminous surface, and can be thinned, has improved light distribution characteristics, and can correct variations in a color tone easily. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting device comprises a substrate 2; positive and negative electrodes 4, 6 formed on the substrate 2; a light-emitting diode 8; and phosphor 16 dispersed in a transparent resin layer. The transparent resin layer comprises a first transparent resin layer 12 containing the phosphor 16 and a second one 14 without essentially containing the phosphor 16. The second transparent resin layer 14 is machined in a curved surface so that the upper surface forms a lens. On a set of sides that oppose each other in the light-emitting device, the first and second transparent resin layers 12, 14 are cut so that they are nearly flush each other, and the first transparent resin layer 12 is exposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
