PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for restraining a sealing member from being broken or cracked together with progress of corrosion of an electrode plate in a lead storage battery.SOLUTION: A lead storage battery comprises: a battery case 20 whose top face is opened and that houses plural electrode plates 31 inside; a strap 41 for coupling the plural electrode plates 31; a pole column 50 connected to the strap; a cover member 60 closing the top face of the battery case 20, and having a pole column insertion part 65 in which the pole column 50 is inserted; a sealing member S filled in a gap between the pole column insertion part 65 and the pole column 50 and hardened; and a contact member 71 that is arranged between the cover member 60 and the strap, and can contact the strap 41 together with elongation of the electrode plates 31. |
