PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine communication distance on the basis of a response time of a receiver to a predetermined command.SOLUTION: A random challenge reception control unit receives a random challenge (RC) from a terminal at a transmission side, and supplies it to an authentication data generation unit. The random challenge reception control unit transmits an RC reception message representing the reception of the RC to the transmission side. The authentication data generation unit applies hash processing to the RC and supplies authentication data obtained as its result to a response message generation unit. A response message transmission control unit controls the response message generation unit at timing before a response request command from the transmission side is received, allows it to generate a response message including the authentication data, and transmits the response message to a transmission destination terminal when the response request command is received. This disclosure can be applied to, for example, a content providing system. |
