PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external resonator laser preventing a parasitic oscillation and hardly causing deterioration of characteristics even during a high-output operation, as well as a laser chip and a beam filter used in it. SOLUTION: The beam filter uses a light scatterer thin film. The beam filter uses the light scatterer thin film formed with a pin hole. The laser chip includes the beam filter using the light scatterer thin film. Alternatively, the external resonator laser includes the laser chip equipped with the beam filter using the light scatterer thin film, a diffraction grating diffracting a light from the laser chip, and a mirror reflecting the light from the diffraction grating.
