<p>The method comprises, entering a set of preset job parameters to a computing device, the preset job parameters including a torque setting and an identifier corresponding to the torque setting; and communicating the set of preset job parameter from the computing device to a tool adapted to apply torque to a work piece. In another aspect of the invention these preset job parameters are stored in memory of a tool. In another aspect the tool is a wrench. In another aspect the tool comprises a processor; a memory couple to the processor; a torque sensor coupled to the processor; a USB interface circuit couple to the processor; and instruction stored in the memory, the instructions executable by the processor to: receive a set of preset job parameters from a computing device via the USB, the parameters include torque setting and an identifier corresponding to the torque setting, and store the set of preset job parameter in the memory. In another aspect the tool stores torque measurements in a memory to be later downloaded to an external computing device. In another aspect the tool can receive a real time clock configuration from a computing device, and also receive software updates.</p> |
