<p>Provided is a conveyance mechanism that is for a paper sheet handling device and that is effective in reducing maintenance work costs and component costs, and that is such that a paper sheet intake unit that receives paper sheets and a paper sheet feed unit that delivers paper sheets to an identification unit are configured from the same device. The paper sheet handling device (20) is provided with: a slot insertion opening (25); a conveyance stand (34) disposed in a horizontal manner adjacent to the insertion opening; an infeed roller pair (37) that feeds in banknotes (36) inserted via the insertion opening and places the banknotes on the conveyance stand; and a guide rail (39) that guides the motion of the conveyance stand from the horizontally disposed position to a paper sheet feed unit (35), which has an oblique disposition. The conveyance stand is provided with: a stopper member (43) that slides along an elongated hole (42) provided in the vicinity of the upper edge of a side wall (41); a restraining member (45) that presses or releases the pressing of the banknotes; and a motor (40) that engages the guide rail. The conveyance stand on which banknotes inserted via the insertion opening are placed restrains the banknotes by means of the pressing member, moves along the guide rail to the paper sheet feed unit, and, by means of a feedout roller (51) and a conveyance roller pair (52), feeds the banknotes one at a time to a conveyance pathway (a) that passes through the identification unit (29).</p> |
