PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry gas compressor improved in durability of a sliding material more than before while a cylinder inner surface is protected, and to provide a sliding material for a dry gas compressor.SOLUTION: The dry gas compressor 100 includes: a cylinder 21; a piston 22 reciprocating in the cylinder 21; the sliding material 23 installed to the piston 22 and sealing a compression space 2 formed in the cylinder 21, into which a dry gas is introduced, in an airtight manner; and sliding mechanisms 25, 26, 27 for sliding the piston 22 in the cylinder 21. The sliding material 23 is formed of a resin material containing an oxygen atom-containing functional group.
