PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor which prevents a gas circulation hole formed on a cover protecting a gas sensor element from being clogged with PM, thereby effectively preventing reduction in sensor responsiveness.SOLUTION: A gas sensor 10 includes a gas sensor element 1, a housing 2 for holding the gas sensor element 1, an inner cover 4 held by the housing 2 and arranged around the gas sensor element 1, and an outer cover 3 which is held by the housing 2 and arranged around the inner cover 4 via a gap G. A gas circulating through a first gas circulation hole 3a formed on the outer cover 3, through the gap G, and through a second gas circulation hole 4a formed on the inner cover 4 is supplied to the gas sensor element 1. Around the second gas circulation hole 4a at least, in an outer surface 4b opposite the gap G of the inner cover 4, an oxidation catalyst 5 is carried. |
