摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-aligning roller bearing such that when the self-aligning roller bearing is used under a heavy load condition, edge loads generated at contact parts between orbital planes of an outer ring and an inner ring and both axial ends of a roller are reduced in an easy method.SOLUTION: After a rolling plane of a roller is roughly processed to a radius R1 of curvature smaller than radii of curvature of orbital planes of an outer ring and an inner ring, an axial center part of the roller is finished to a radius R2 of curvature larger than the radius R1 of curvature and equal to or less than the radii of curvature of orbital planes of the outer ring and inner ring, and curved plane parts which have gaps with the orbital planes of the outer ring and inner ring in an unloaded state are formed at the axial ends of the roller to the radius R1 of curvature. A curved plane part nearby each end of the roller has an axial dimension which is 5-15% of the overall axial length of the roller.</p>
