An objective of the present invention is to provide a polarizing plate capable of providing a liquid crystal display having high contrast by providing the polarizing plate having high scratch resistance. Another objective of the present invention is to provide a method of simply manufacturing a polarizing plate. In order to accomplish the objectives of the present invention, there is provided a liquid crystal display having at least a liquid cell, a polarizing plate, a diffusion sheet, and a backlight, which are sequentially provided. The polarizing plate makes contact with the diffusion sheet. The polarizing plate has a frictional force reducing component on the contact surface with the diffusion sheet. The dynamic friction force between the surface of the polarizing plate having the frictional force reducing component and the diffusion sheet is 10 N or less. |
