The method involves forming a foamed plastic sheet with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or blends of PVC and cholorinated polyvinyl chloride, PVC with styrenic copolymers or PVC with polyacrylates. The PVC-proportion is 10 percent and the plastic sheet has a closed cell structure with a thickness less than 70 percent of the thickness of an unfoamed molding compound. The molding composition comprises chemical blowing agent, a physical blowing agent and calcium carbonate which are added in a specific surface.
