PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, an image display method and a program, capable of appropriately displaying features of an area.SOLUTION: An image display device includes: a selection unit that selects any of a plurality of animation patterns; an image data generation unit that generates animation image data applying a selected animation pattern to a characteristic object whose characteristic is identified, in one or more objects included in display information to be a display object; and an animation display control unit that displays the animation image data onto a display unit.
