ANTI-TRAP PROTECTION FOR AN ADJUSTABLE VEHICLE PART

In the course of an easily implemented anti-trap protection method for an adjustable vehicle part (2), a test variable (C) is continuously determined by means of a distance sensor (9) during the adjustment of the vehicle part (2). A direct anti-trap protection test (22) determines on the basis of the test variable (C) whether an obstacle is detectable in the adjustment path (X) of the vehicle part (2), wherein the adjustment is stopped or reversed if necessary. An indirect anti-trap protection test (24) determines on the basis of the same test variable (C) whether the movement of the vehicle part (2) has slowed down irregularly or come to a stop, wherein the adjustment is stopped or reversed if necessary. An associated anti-trap protection comprises an anti-trap protection control unit (8), which is designed for the automatic performance of the above-described method.
