<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering rare earth elements from a material including iron group elements and rare earth elements without using hydrofluoric acid and/or ammonium fluoride.SOLUTION: The provided method is a method for recovering rare earth elements from a material including iron group elements and rare earth elements and includes a dissolution step of preparing, by mixing, with an acid solution, a material including iron group elements and rare earth elements, an aqueous solution in which the iron group elements and rare earth elements are dissolved, a complex generation step of forming, by adding an acidic ammonium salt to the aqueous solution, an ammine complex of the iron group elements within the aqueous solution, a pH adjustment step of obtaining, by adding a base to the aqueous solution including the ammine complex of the iron group elements, a suspension including a precipitate, and, as a recovery step of recovering, by separating the suspension obtained at the pH adjustment step into a precipitate and an aqueous phase, the rare earth elements into the precipitate, a step at which a majority of rare earth elements included within the material including iron group elements and rare earth elements exists within the precipitate while a majority of the iron group elements exists within the aqueous phase.</p> |
