The reel (1) has mandrel shaft (2) including a drive-side end piece (18), which is rotatably mounted by a bearing (4) that is provided in a machine frame (3). A clamping device (5) is arranged between the bearing and the shaft so that a frictional connection is produced between the bearing and the shaft in a clamped operating state. The clamping device includes a hydraulically actuated clamping sleeve with a cavity i.e. hollow cylinder, for receiving hydraulic medium. The drive-side end piece is fastened in the bearing by the clamping device.
