The invention relates to a system having a device for detecting raised material flaws on a paper web or corrugated cardboard web (7) that is moved in a conveying direction (6). The device comprises a sensor apparatus (2) having a first sensor unit (4) having a first transmitter (8) for transmitting first sensor beams (13) and having a first receiver (9), wherein the first sensor beams (12) extend parallel to the material surface side (17) of the paper web or corrugated cardboard web (7) to be monitored and cover a first signal distance (S1) therebetween. Furthermore, the sensor apparatus (2) has a second sensor unit (5) having a second transmitter (10) for transmitting second sensor beams (13) and a second receiver (11), wherein the second sensor beams (13) extend parallel to the material surface side (17) and cover a second signal distance (S2) therebetween. The first and second sensor units (4, 5) are oriented in such a way that the distance between the first and second sensor beams (12, 13) in the conveying direction (6) changes over the signal distances (S1, S2) thereof.
