A preferred embodiment of the present invention can provide an optical switch using reflection or refraction, which is capable of controlling an optical path by using not only reflection but also refraction in an interface of a reflector when a refractive index of the reflector is lower or higher than a refractive index of a waveguide. The optical switch using refraction according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises: a main waveguide on which light is incident, the main waveguide having a straight line shape; a branch waveguide branched from the main waveguide at a branch angle which is a predetermined angle from the main waveguide; and a refractor, a refractive index of which is changed by application of a signal, wherein a second refractive index, which is a refractive index of the refractor, is controlled to be smaller than a first refractive index, which is a refractive index of the main waveguide and the branch waveguide, and light is incident from the main waveguide to a first interface of the reflector contacting the main waveguide and is guided to the branch waveguide by reflection to the outside of the reflector. |
