PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of a heat shielding cover to an exhaust system component which has a highly durable cushion ring and, moreover, can effectively suppress the occurrence of electric corrosion on every part.SOLUTION: A mounting structure of a heat shielding cover to an exhaust system component comprises: a cover mounting part 4 of the exhaust system component C; mounting holes 7 of a heat shielding cover 3 made of light alloy with which the exhaust system component C is covered; a support member 10 comprising a collar 11 made of iron alloy which penetrates the mounting holes 7 and flange parts 12, 13; cushion rings 16, 17 made of iron alloy interposed between the support member 10 and the heat shielding cover 3; and a fastening member 19 which fastens the support member 10 to the cover mounting part 4. Therein, grommets 14 made of iron alloy each comprising a cylindrical wall 14a having a semi-circular cross-section with which the inner circumferential surface of the mounting hole 7 is covered and a pair of upper and lower edge walls 14b, 14b which are adhered to upper and lower surfaces of the heat shielding cover 3 are fixedly fitted to the heat shielding cover 3, and a coating film 15 having ionization tendency closer to Al alloy than iron alloy is formed on the whole surface of the grommets 14. |
