1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium embodying a program executable in at least one computing device, comprising:
code that calculates a score for each of a plurality of items in an electronic commerce system as a function of a plurality of trigger events associated with a plurality of browsing activities with respect to a user of a client, the browsing activities comprising a viewing of the item, a discussion of the item in a forum or message board associated with the electronic commerce system, or a discussion of the item in a social media service, the items being unpurchased by the user of the client and associated with a merchant; code that selects at least one of the items responsive to the score of the at least one of the items exceeding a threshold; code that communicates a first notification to the merchant soliciting a submission of an offer for the at least one of the items to the client, the offer comprising a discount applied to the at least one of the items and a time duration during which the offer is valid; code that communicates a second notification embodying the offer to the client; and wherein the first notification and the second notification comprise a short messaging system (SMS) message, and email message, or content encoded into a network page. |
