The present invention relates to a cable cutting device for a cable bridge simulation model that can understand the structural behavior of a cable bride, such as a cable-stayed bridge, by use of a simulation model of the cable bridge, in which in order to predict the structural behavior of the cable bridge or damages to the cable bridge when a cable supporting an upper board of the bride is ruptured, the cable of the cable bridge simulation model is ruptured at an intended moment of an experimenter, without outer disturbance caused by the cutting of a cable by scissors or a common cutter. The cable cutting device includes a primary engaging portion (1A) and a secondary engaging portion (1B) formed with sawteeth having a convex portion (2) and a concave portion (3). The convex portion (2) of the primary engaging portion (1A) is provided with an electromagnetic plate (5), and the concave portion (3) of the secondary engaging portion (1B) is provided with an attaching member (6). By mutual engagement of the sawteeth and engagement of the electromagnetic plate (5) and the attaching member (6) with a magnetic force, the primary engaging portion (1A) and the secondary engaging portion (1B) are engaged to connect cables (200). When the rupture of the cable (200) is necessary, the magnetic force of the electromagnetic plate (5) is removed, and the primary engaging portion (1A) and the secondary engaging portion (1B) are separated from each other by the tension of the cables (200), thereby rupturing the cables (200).
