The present invention relates to a system and a method for surveying broadcasting ratings, and provides a broadcasting rating survey system and a method using the same, the system comprising: a TV signal receiving device for receiving a broadcast signal in order to transmit the broadcast signal to a TV and transmitting an event signal to a rating statistic information server when a predetermined condition occurs; the rating statistic information server for transmitting a fingerprint extraction request signal to a pre-registered user terminal when the event signal is received from the TV signal receiving device; and the user terminal for extracting fingerprint data on an audio signal generated from the TV viewed by a user when the fingerprint extraction request signal is received from the rating statistic information server and transmitting the extracted fingerprint data and user identification information to the rating statistic information server, wherein the rating statistic information server obtains channel identification information of a TV channel viewed by the user on the basis of the fingerprint data transmitted from the user terminal and generates rating statistic information on the basis of the obtained channel identification information and the user identification information.
