<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval apparatus and an information retrieval method capable of efficiently reducing retrieval errors when retrieving a predetermined database by using a character string.SOLUTION: An information retrieval apparatus 1 includes: a character string information acquisition part 12 for acquiring one or more character string information indicating a character string as one retrieving information; a number-of-characters counting part 13 for counting the number of characters of the character string indicated by the character string information in each character string information acquired by the character string information acquisition part; a retrieval part 15 for acquiring a retrieval result by executing retrieval corresponding to the number of characters in each character string information, which is counted by the number-of-characters counting part 13, by using the retrieving information acquired by the character string information acquisition part 12; and a retrieval result output part 17 for outputting the retrieval result acquired by the retrieval part 15.</p> |
