PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily inspect an amount of cutting of an actuator substrate in a method for manufacturing a head chip including an actuator plate in which a discharge groove with a predetermined depth is formed by grinding the actuator substrate.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a head chip includes the steps of: a groove formation process S3 for forming a groove being a base of a discharge groove on one surface of an actuator substrate; a substrate grinding process S7 for grinding the other surface of the actuator substrate to make the groove having a predetermined depth; a recess part formation process S31 for forming an inspection recess part whose state in the other surface of the actuator substrate changes depending on an amount of grinding of the actuator substrate in the substrate grinding process S7 on the actuator substrate; and an amount of grinding determination process S71 for determining the amount of grinding of the actuator substrate from the state of the inspection recess part after the substrate grinding process S7. |
