PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder and an image formation apparatus capable of feeding sheets while separating the sheets one by one without damage to the sheets and without delay to deal with acceleration and the like of printer.SOLUTION: A sheet feed unit includes a nip guide member 26 having a guide tip end urged toward a feed roller 4 at a position away from the feed roller 4 at a predetermined length, and having an inclined guide surface 26a inclined to guide a tip end of a sheet S to a separation nip portion N. The sheet feed unit further includes support means for supporting the nip guide member 26 so as not to move the nip guide member 26 in a direction away from the feed roller 4 if a thickness of a sheet bundle entering the inclined guide surface 26a is smaller than the predetermined length between the feed roller 4 and the guide tip end, and for supporting the nip guide member 26 so that the nip guide member 26 can move in the direction away from the feed roller 4 if the thickness is larger than the predetermined length. |
