Disclosed are a method of controlling the driving of a two phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) and an apparatus using the same. The apparatus for controlling the driving of an SRM comprises: a target speed arrival determination unit for determining whether the SRM reaches a target speed; a zero volt switching (ZVS) success determination unit for determining whether the SRM allows zero-point voltage switching; a subsidiary torque generation determination unit for determining whether a subsidiary torque is generated in the SRM; a lead angle control unit for determining whether a lead angle should be controlled, based on the determination results obtained by the target speed arrival determination unit, the zero volt switching success determination unit, and the subsidiary torque generation determination unit; and a conduction angle control unit for determining whether a conduction angle is to be controlled. Accordingly, noise and vibrations of the SRM can be reduced.
