A thermoformed plastic cover that securely hinges to a thin card board box, by the use of formed protruding clips that hook into a hole cut in the base. The cover is manufactured in a standard machine using the thermoforming process to form the plastic to the mould profile. The cardboard base has holes and/or tabs (4) cut in the side walls to align with the hinge hooks (3) in the cover. The profile of the die allows the hinge clip (3) to be formed close to the side wall of the cover (1) allowing for minimal protrusion of the clip past the base (2). The cover is placed in to the base using a hinging action; a label (5) is then placed on the opposite side to secure the cover (1) to the base (2). Removal of the cover can be achieved by tearing the label (5) and lifting the cover edge up in a hinging action. Ln C** 4 m |
