1. A method for displaying data from at least one sensor of a machine, said method implemented by a computing device, said method comprising:
storing, in a memory coupled to the computing device, a data set based on measurement information from the sensor; separating the data set into a plurality of data samples based on at least one characteristic of the measurement information; selecting a first visual format and a second visual format from a range of visual formats, wherein the first visual format is different from the second visual format; displaying, with a display device, a first visual representation of a first data sample of the plurality of data samples using the first visual format, wherein the first visual representation is displayed on a plot; and displaying, with the display device, a second visual representation of a second data sample of the plurality of data samples using the second visual format, the second visual representation is displayed on the plot.
