Provided is a rotary vane compressor, comprising a housing, a drive shaft, a rotor, a pair of front side plate and rear side plate, an exhaust chamber, a plurality of blades, a plurality of backpressure chambers, a plurality of compression chambers, a separator, and a backpressure applying mechanism. The backpressure applying mechanism is provided with a rotation channel and an intermittent communication mechanism. The rotation channel is formed in the drive shaft or a rotator which can synchronously rotate with the drive shaft. The intermittent communication mechanism is provided with a downstream channel. The downstream channel is disposed on downstream of the rotation channel so as to allow communication of the rotation channel and the backpressure chambers. The intermittent communication mechanism allows the rotation channel to communicate with the exhaust chamber and the backpressure chambers according to an angular position of the drive shaft. The rear side plate is provided with the separator and the downstream channel. |
