<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient control result regarding various performances required for an internal combustion engine by an improved cooperative control of a variable valve timing mechanism (VVT) and a supercharger characteristic control actuator.SOLUTION: A base valve timing of a VVT is calculated on the basis of a target air amount, and target suction pipe pressure is calculated on the basis of the target air amount and the base valve timing. Then, a control variable of a supercharger characteristic control actuator is calculated on the basis of the target suction pipe pressure. A control variable of the VVT is calculated on the basis of the target air amount. Here, if an estimated air amount when a flow rate of air passing through a suction valve is maximized by controlling of the VVT is smaller than the target air amount, the VVT control variable is calculated for controlling the VVT so that the flow rate of the air passing through the VVT is maximized. Then, when the estimated air amount becomes not less than the target air amount, the VVT control variable is calculated on the basis of the target air amount and actual supercharger pressure.</p> |
