PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of reinforcing steel of a beam without requiring much labor for construction. SOLUTION: In this method for calculating the strength of the beam 40 which constitutes an underground section of a building undergoing the action of earth and water pressure from an outer periphery, a compressive force acting on the beam 40 by the earth and water pressure is calculated, and the strength of the beam 40 in the state of the action of the calculated compressive force on the beam 40 is calculated. Subsequently, the cross-sectional design of the beam 40 is performed so that the calculated strength can be set equal to or greater than necessary strength. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
