The present invention relates to a method for inspecting a sea chest area of a vessel, capable of allowing an inspector to visually inspect the sea chest area and draining off water of the sea chest area while floating on the water in inspection of the sea chest area of a special vessel which is excepted from a vessel docking test practiced at every five year, and an inspecting device for the same. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the method for inspecting a sea chest area of a vessel and an inspecting device for the same, capable of exempting the docking test by draining seawater in the sea chest area when visually checked by an inspector and allowing the inspector to visually check the sea chest area.
