PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power reception device capable of accurately detecting a foreign body while suppressing power transmission in a situation where the foreign body exists.SOLUTION: A power reception device comprises: first detection parts 75, 76, and 77; and second detection parts 80 to 85. The first detection parts 75, 76, and 77 are sensors for detecting a physical quantity in a detection region over which the first detection parts 75, 76, and 77 perform detection. The second detection parts 80 to 85 are sensors for detecting variation in a physical quantity in a detection region over which the second detection parts 80 to 85 perform detection. A control unit makes the first detection parts 75, 76, and 77 detect a foreign body located between a power transmission unit and a power reception unit before power transmission from the power transmission unit to the power reception unit starts, and makes the second detection parts 80 to 85 detect a foreign body invading between the power transmission unit and the power reception unit during the power transmission from the power transmission unit to the power reception unit. |
