998,526. Tape dispensers. MINNESOTA MINING & MANUFACTURING CO. May 2, 1962 [May 2, 1961], No. 16881/62. Heading A4G. A dispenser for adhesive tape has two half-casings 40, 41 hingedly locked together by telescoping hubs (one 26 shown) with an engaging peg and groove and carrying the tape roll 62, the casings being scissored by handles 46, 47 respectively to enlarge an opening between rims 38, 39 so that tape T can be manually pulled out. On closing the handles and the opening, a diagonal cutter 58 pulls the tape which sticks to platform 37 and severs it as the cutter moves over a straight facing blade 59, the end of the roll adhering to the blade end 59 until it is pulled off by stripper 60 and pushed on to a retainer 61. On pulling the handles apart again, pusher 36 pushes the tape off 61 and presents it towards the opening. Blades 58, 60 and pusher 36 are connected to handle 46, and blades 59, 61 and platform 37 to handle 47.
|
