PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a copper loss while securing insertability of a conductor segment coil into a slot in a stator of a rotary electric machine.SOLUTION: In a stator 10 of a rotary electric machine, an U-shaped conductor segment coil 20 is inserted from one side of a stator core 12 in an axial direction into a slot 16, a protruding portion at another side in the axial direction is folded and in the state where a plurality of conductor segment coils 20 are assembled to each slot 16, a spacer is disposed at an innermost diameter side of the slot 16. In the case where a sectional area of the U-shaped portion 22 of the conductor segment coil 20 protruding from one side of the stator core 12 in the axial direction is defined as A1, a sectional area of an in-slot portion 24 of the conductor segment coil 20 is defined as A2 and a sectional area of a distal end portion 26 of the conductor segment coil 20 protruding from the other side of the stator core 12 in the axial direction is defined as A3, A1 is larger than A3 and A3 is larger than A2. |
