PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide auditory and balance function disorder treatment using a redox active therapeutic drug.SOLUTION: A composition and method for preventive or therapeutic treatment of auditory or balance function disorder, in a mammal, associated with neuron damage, elimination or degeneration by administering a therapeutic effective dose of a redox active therapeutic drug are provided. In order for therapy of toxic hearing loss, a composition and method improved for therapy requiring administration of a pharmaceutical preparation having ototoxicity side effect, in combination with a therapeutic effective dose of a redox active therapeutic drug are provided. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a method for therapy using a preventive or therapeutic effective dose of a redox active therapeutic drug for prevention, alleviation or therapy of the incidence rate or severity of auditory function disorder, for a patient having or easily having auditory or balance function disorder. |
