The battery measuring clamp (10) has a protection device (15), a battery sensor (56) and a battery terminal (80). The battery terminal is fixedly connected between a battery post (85) of a vehicle battery (90) of a motor car and the battery sensor. The battery sensor is protected against the environmental influences by the protection device. The protection device is provided with a closed pore foam (105) which is designed to prevent the moisture transportation from an environment to the battery sensor.
