A deformable, collapsible, shopping trolley token has a component 1.0 that partially replicates the dimensions of a coin. When this component 1.0 is inserted into a lock mechanism on a shopping trolley or similar device the lock will be released. The component 1.0 is dimensionally stable when pushed into the lock due to it being supported by component 2.6. Component 1.0 will deform and collapse to a smaller dimension when component 2.6 is pulled in the opposite direction. The collapse will allow the token to be withdrawn from the lock without the need for it to first be re-locked. The position of component 2.6 within component 1.0 will be set by an elasticated or sprung element 4.0 located within a housing. The token may include a through hole in the housing enabling it to be attached to a key ring. The token is intended to be used by people have difficulty handling small coins, such as the elderly or those with medical conditions affecting their fingers. |
