<p>PURPOSE:A specific metallic base paint is coated on the surface of the substrates and while the coated film is kept uncured, a transparent top coating of thermosetting resin is applied and then they are baked, thus forming coating films having good appearance and high chemical and weathering resistances. CONSTITUTION:After (A) a metallic basic coating containing a modified vinyl copolymer resulting from copolymerization of (a) 5-40wt% of cellulose acetate butyrate and (b) 95-60wt% of the monomer component consisting of at least one of vinyl monomers such as methyl methacrylate is coated on the surface of substrates, (B) a transparent top coating of thermosetting resin such as butylated melamine resin is applied onto the primer while the primer is still uncured and then they are baked to give the objective metallic coating films.</p> |
