A decrease in reception accuracy is suppressed even when downlink signals are transmitted from a plurality of transmission points to a user terminal. A wireless communication system is provided with a plurality of wireless base stations, and a user terminal configured to communicate with a plurality of wireless base station devices. The wireless base stations include a generation unit that generates a reference signal by using a pseudorandom sequence utilizing signaling information of which the user terminal is notified, and a transmission unit that transmits a downlink signal including the reference signal to the user terminal. The user terminal includes a determination unit that determines the type of each downlink signal on the basis of the signaling information notified with respect to the pseudorandom sequence of the reference signal, and a signal processing unit that performs signal processing in accordance with the type of the downlink signal.
