PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image disturbance caused by stains on first and second rotating bodies even when a situation continues in which recording materials are fed without contact with a third rotating body, in an image heating device including: the first and second rotating bodies 41 and 50 that form a nip part N for heating an image t on the recording material P; the third rotating body 70 that is removably attached to the first rotating body or the second rotating body; cleaning means 80 that is removably attached to the third rotating body 70; and control means 100 for controlling such that when the recording materials are fed continuously to the nip part in a value of a predetermined number or more, the third rotating body is attached to the first rotating body or the second rotating body, and the cleaning means is attached to the third rotating body.SOLUTION: In the case where only a job to feed recording materials to a nip part in a value less than a predetermined number has been intermittently executed, when the integrated number of the recording materials becomes the predetermined value or more, a third rotating body is attached to a first rotating body or a second rotating body for a predetermined period, and cleaning means is attached to the third rotating body to rotate the first and second rotating bodies. |
