PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element with excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency and responsiveness.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a photoelectric conversion element includes : a first electrode forming step of forming a first electrode 120; a photoelectric conversion unit forming step of forming a first semiconductor film 210 and forming a second semiconductor film 220; a second electrode film forming step of forming a second electrode film 300; a transistor forming step of forming a switching element 400; and a wiring forming step of forming wiring for connecting the second electrode film 300 and the switching element 400. The photoelectric conversion unit forming step is performed before the transistor forming step and the wiring forming step.
