An image apparatus for processing additional information and a method for controlling the same are provided to store the additional information in a storing medium with the image and display the additional information when reproducing the image, thereby improving the convenience of a user. A photographing unit photographs an image. A signal-processing unit(120) processes the photographed image to generate a digital image. An additional information-storing unit(115) stores additional information. A recording medium records the digital image and the additional information thereon. The additional information is image-related information including at least one of positional information representing a position of the photographed image and time information representing a photographing time or date. The image-related information is generated when the image is photographed or recorded. |
